Farm Link

Branding, Web Design, Messaging
farmlinkmontana.org

Farm Link Montana is the first online clearinghouse for Montana’s beginning farmers and ranchers. As we began thinking about a new, cutting-edge website that would connect farmers with vital agricultural land, we realized a strong FarmLink logo was needed as a foundation for this initiative. We developed a clean, modern logo that combines easily recognizable agricultural design elements with a bold san serif typography that appeals to the younger audience in Farm Link’s target demographic.
We began website design and development with a thorough discovery phase to clarify the client’s goals and objectives for the Farm Link application; as well as the warmth and accessibility they wanted to convey through stylistic decisions. Following the site map and wireframing process, we designed a site with compelling imagery and great user experience at top of mind - while developing dynamic application tools and maps that can match beginning farmers with available internships, mentorship, and land parcels for sale.

When we set out to develop FarmLinkMontana.org, we knew that developing the first online clearinghouse for Montana’s beginning farmers and ranchers would be a tall order. We had three new tools with online application forms to develop, a map with pins for each listing (some of which were anonymous), and over 30 pages of resources. I am very glad we chose to work with Studio Verde. Amy and Shane were excellent to work with and found a way to say “Yes” to every element we wanted to incorporate. Not only that, they incorporated these elements effectively and cleanly. We now have a beautiful site and we have received many comments from farmers and farm organizations around the state about how impressed they are by the website and the tools and resources it represents.
In just the past 5 months since launching the site, we’ve had more than 18,000 page views from 3,000 site users. People are spending an average of more than 4 minutes on the site, which tells us that the site is designed in a way that encourages them to dive in and learn more. We are deeply grateful for all of their work and for their willingness to work with us to achieve our goals. Thanks for the great site!
